Rep. Vargas Statement on Vote to Support Our Democratic Friends and Allies and Deliver Humanitarian Aid
WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Representative Juan Vargas (CA-52) released the following statement on his vote to pass the national security supplemental funding bills that reflect the Senate-passed, bipartisan National Security Act, 2024.
“For months, House Democrats have repeatedly called on House leadership to bring forward legislation that supports our democratic friends and allies in Ukraine, Israel, and in the Indo-Pacific, and delivers much-needed humanitarian aid to civilians around the world, including in Gaza. Today, we finally had the opportunity to vote on this urgently needed legislation. Our nation is always at its strongest when we stand shoulder to shoulder with our friends and allies. This essential national security funding makes it clear that we will continue to champion democracy around the world, keep our promises, and stand by our allies. I look forward to seeing this legislation quickly passed by the Senate and signed into law.”
